Change the World
As the hours rush by,
and the work piles up,
As the cars rush past,
and the planes fly by,
As I go from one day to the next,
every now and then I stop what I’m doing,
and I think, “I may just have a place in this world yet.”
As good days fade to memories,
and bad days turn to nightmares,
As the earth spins,
and the trees lose their leaves,
As life continues its steady pattern,
every once in a while I sit back,
and I think, “I can change the world.”
But those moments are few and far between,
and mostly I think, “What am I doing here?”
And then a billion answers come to mind,
“To help the needy.” and, “To protect the poor.”
Yet though those tasks are very noble,
I then realize my real purpose.
God put me on this earth today to make an influence, a lasting impression,
and that is my true place, my true reason for life.
